Elephants new sandwich packaging
New cold sandwich packaging – coming March 20th
Beginning March 20th, 2024, we're introducing a new packaging solution for our cold sandwiches: #1 PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic clamshell containers. This upgrade is designed to elevate the quality of our cold sandwiches.
Key benefits:
- Keeps the sandwiches fresher: Fresher food simply tastes and looks better. Our new packaging is designed to better preserve our products, allowing us to include fresh vegetables like lettuce or tomato on the side, preventing the dreaded bread sogginess.
- No more smooshed sandwiches: The new packaging maintains the product's integrity, ensuring our sandwiches keep their shape.
- Easily transportable: When stacked, the new plastic sandwich package remains undamaged, making transportation a breeze for Elephants, our wholesale partners, and our customers.
- Recycling #1 PET plastic: Unlike the non-recyclable polypropylene film we previously used, the new PET plastic container is a non-standard recyclable that we can collect and transport to a facility. Just bring us your clean #1 plastics, like the sandwich clamshells, when you're done, and we'll take care of recycling them for you. (We are partnering with D6 Inc. to recycle them into 100% post-consumer plastic containers for our grab-and-go items.)
