Mussels in the Garden

Join us on Thursday, June 21st for an evening of freshly-cooked mussels and Mediterranean-style salads. For one night, the Garden Room at NW 22nd will be transformed into a restaurant de fruits de mer from the south of France. We’ll be serving an à la carte menu that includes fresh mussels cooked in your choice of broth, all served with grilled bread and a choice of vegetable salads and sides. There will, of course, be plenty of wine by the bottle and by the glass. And desserts. Bring your friends, bring the kids. It’s casual, so reservations aren’t required—but definitely give us a ring if you’re coming with a crowd!

Strawberries are Back!

Oregon strawberries are a cause for celebration. Fruit salads, ice cream and baked goods are all enriched with this season’s fresh produce. And Elephants celebrates this year’s bumper crop of berries with some perennial favorites: strawberry sour cream muffins, strawberry-rhubarb pie, strawberry shortcake, and our strawberry basil milkshake. Drop in today for an early taste of summer.

June Wine of THE Month

From Spain’s northwestern region of Galicia comes Pazo do Mar Ribeiro Blanco, a lip-smacking white wine. A blend of three indigenous grapes – Treixadura, Torrontes and Godello – from the Ribeiro create a harmonious, floral-scented white packed with refreshing flavors of lemon, honey and green apple. This wine’s crisp and zippy finish makes it perfect for pairing with a shady porch or hammock, and it’s a steal at only $12.95 a bottle.
