This cocktail (also referred to by the herd as the Leather Jacket) is a savory take on a classic Negroni.
• 1 ¼ oz bacon-infused rye whiskey (see recipe below)
• 1 oz. Cardamaro
• 1 oz. Averna amaro
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a swatch of orange rind.
Mix 8 oz bacon fat and 750 mL (a fifth) rye whiskey together in a metal container. Let sit at room temp for two hours and then put into a freezer to let get the bacon fat and whiskey to separate.
Once the fat is frozen separate, it from the whiskey and strain whiskey through a cheesecloth. Keep refrigerated.
