Stay out of the weather, and snuggle up close around a boiling pot of our delicious fondue. The savory whiffs of steam and the delectable taste of this cheese gravy will keep Jack Frost where he belongs – nipping elsewhere. Here are a few tips for making your winter fondue something to remember:

Do: Assemble the basics – a clay fondue pot and forks, as well as a delicious blend of cheeses and accompaniments. We suggest a basic serving size of 5 to 7 ounces per person.

Don’t: Prepare this meal beforehand! Opt instead to make preparation part of the party. Assign your guests simple tasks, such as chopping vegetables, dicing cheese, or cutting bread. Add a bottle of wine to the mix and enjoy camaraderie and conversation with friends and family.

Do: Expertly stir your fondue fork in a figure eight motion, rather than simply dipping it.

Don’t: Lose your slice of baguette in the cheese. Tradition dictates that if you do, you must kiss the person to your left (depending who is seated to your left, this may be a Do rather than a Don’t).

Do: Pair fondue with beer or a bottle of white wine (duh).

Easily prepared while remaining elegant, fondue is a meal that suits friends and family at all ages. Little kids and elders alike will delight in the novelty and fun, while epicureans will find their tastebuds quivering from its sumptuous power. Come into Elephants and pick up a pint of our fondue, our classic pot, and all the accomaniments.
